Weekly Teachings with Lama Padma
Lama Padma will teach each week on the progressive approach of the Three Vehicles of Buddhism. Except for the tantra classes, they are open to all, and although they are progressive and each section could stand on its own, it would be best to attend at least all the sessions within each section.
December 2 - 30 (5 weeks)
The path of Individual Liberation (pratimoksha)
Covering such topics as human potential, the limitations of impermanence, cause and effect, and sufferings; the imminence of liberation as embodied in the Three Jewels of Refuge; the power of vows, and the role of discipline and meditation. The opportunity to receive Refuge vows will be offered on the final evening.
JAN 6 - FEB 3 (5 WEEKS)
THE PATH OF UNIVERSAL LIBERATION (MAHAYANA)
Covering the generation of the three kinds of bodhichitta: aspiration, engaging, and ultimate. The opportunity to receive Bodhisattva vows will be offered on final evening.
Feb. 10 – Apr 7 (8 weeks)
The path of Pure Vision (Vajrayana)
Please note: These teachings are restricted to students who have received Vajrayana Empowerment
Covering such topics as empowerment, deity yoga, and the methods and meaning of rites and rituals; and the way of the Great Accomplishment (drubchen).
